Server install can be done in either command-line (usual for Linux server) or via GUI.
In order to install you need admin grant. you can write:
java -jar serverinstall.jar install /file=dataweb.ist (command-line)
java -jar serverinstall.jar ginstall /file=dataweb.ist (GUI based)
or in case of Windows installation, double click on:
install.exe (GUI based)
Installation ask to you: Install Path and user name and password of super-user, the one will create DataWeb instance.
The instance will permit to define the database engine to use (PostgreSQL, HSQLDB), DB admin, e automatically create system table in order to use it. (see later)
Before to run install we suggest to copy Java runtime in folder jruntime in order Client will got them automatically later.
copied file should be:
- jre_win.exe (windows jre)
- jre_linux.bin (linux jre)
When installation is close, some setting are available via server.properties files:
port = <port>
listen port of dataweb server. Default 7720. (if you change you need to restart dataweb service)
portSSL = <port>
SSL listen port of dataweb server. Default 7730. (if you change you need to restart dataweb service)
filePermissionEnable = <true/false>
Grant/Deny to Server component the file system access. Default true = Deny.
executeCmdPermissionEnable = <true/false>
Grant/Deny to Server component to execute SO command. Default true = Deny.
suppressAccessChecksEnable = <true/false>
Grant/Deny to Server component to access to private/protected method. Default true = Deny
